Store Manager Werribee
Job No:
LUSHSMWE1
Location:
Werribee
We are looking for a Store Manager at LUSH Werribee to lead the team through Christmas and beyond!
About us
LUSH is a global manufacturer and retailer of fresh handmade cosmetics. We are known for our unique bath and beauty products, personalised customer service, in-store activism and fun shop atmosphere. LUSH is a campaigning company, working across human rights, environmental protection and animal welfare. We are dedicated to the practices of fair trade sourcing and supporting sustainable communities as well as giving back to organisations that can make a difference through our Charity Pot Program.
About the role
We are looking for a Store Manager to lead the way in our Werribee Store. Our Store Managers are strong and dynamic leaders who have a true passion for delivering exceptional customer service. They know that the way to success is developing and motivating a strong team who will drive sales and deliver targets.
The store itself is located 29km from Melbourne CBD, and is the perfect location for those wanting to strike the balance between living in an area with a more regional feel, but having the bustle of the city easily accessible. It hosts one of our largest shop floors in Victoria, and has lots of natural light and an open layout. The store has built a very loyal base of customers who view the store as a real hub for the community.
What you’ll do
Well firstly you’ll be coming to work in the best-smelling environment there is!
Even though the days will be varied there will be some strong themes. As a business, we believe in empowering strong business managers, so you will be flexing your sales, people development and business management muscles. You will always be leading your team to demonstrate excellent customer service through feedback and coaching. You’ll be managing your own sales and wages budgets to ensure you are managing a profitable business. Some days will be spent on the shop floor leading by example and driving sales. Other days might see you working on the operational side of the business - stock ordering, writing rosters, or analysing the financial performance of the store and looking for improvements. You will also oversee all your recruitment in store, and then develop these individuals to become strong business leaders.
Initial goals
You will join our business at a busy time as we get ready for the Christmas season, so we will be looking for you to quickly get up to speed and assess what the store requires to have festive success. You’ll need to be a fast learner, and build rapport and trust within the team quickly. And importantly, you’ll be the rallying motivator of the current team! Engagement is important at Lush, so we are looking for you to get to know your team and what makes them tick so you can motivate them best over the coming months.
Who you’ll be
Firstly, you’ll be a true people person - you’ll be passionate about the humans that make up our business and the customers we serve. You’ll care about your team and will want to motivate and inspire them. You’ll know the power that a good leader has, and you’ll want to use that power to lift up the people around you. You’ll also need to be confident in giving feedback, or coaching team members. Ideally, you will have had experience in leading teams and you’ll be able to tell us about great results you’ve achieved.
They aren’t the most exciting words in the world, but you will have a love of process and policy. You won’t think of them as boring box checking exercises - you’ll recognise that if you’re running a big store like this, you’ll need to stay on top of things, and that following the process is important for that.
You’ll be able to bring your business savvy to the table - you will be commercial and financially astute, so that you can manage the costs of the business, and chase opportunities to improve KPIs.
You don’t have to know all there is to know about our business, but we are looking for someone who has a strong ethical compass and is passionate about our brand values and beliefs. Find out more about that here.
Research tells us that by now a disproportionate amount of people who identify as female or are members of minority groups have talked themselves out of applying for the role - but wait! We want to hear from you even if you feel like there are areas you’ve read about that you’re still working on.
Why you should work with us
That’s a lot of information about you, so what can we bring to the table? At LUSH you’ll find a supportive team where your input and opinion is valued. We are a progressive work environment that celebrates diversity and we are always trying to make a difference in the world - that feels pretty special.
Of course we smell amazing, and you’ll get a generous discount on LUSH products to keep you smelling and feeling fresh as well as a welcome pack of LUSH products and eco-friendly goodies.
When it comes to benefits we have a company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program with free access to psychological, financial, legal and dietary advice, paid birthday leave, and individual training and development plans.
Please apply by uploading your resume and cover letter in PDF format. Applications close midnight, Sunday 21st November 2021, so apply as soon as possible!
