We at LUSH are looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our team!

 About the role:

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for delivery of Lush’s property portfolio construction strategy within the ANZ Region, ensuring that all completed shop or factory builds reflect the brand’s values, strategy and market positioning. There is also responsibility to ensure that all new shops, refits, re-models, store and furniture design projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The success of this role will be built on strong collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Landlords, fellow employees and third party contractors (e.g. architects and builders). Success will be measured on the role's ability to contribute to the Region delivering its short and long term goals, whilst ensuring the team provides exceptional service in line with brand values in a safe environment.

 Core Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Project Management process, managing the internal process for store openings, refits, relocations and defits within budget and on time as required by our lease obligations;
  • Defining the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management including determining the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project, creating a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project on time;
  • Determining the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion;
  • Liaising with external clients, Retail Design Managers,  contractors, UK design and local support team during the process of the projects;
  • Reviewing the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities and revising the schedule as required
  • Assisting in the preparation and accuracy of property appraisals in accordance with local and group management requirements;
  • Ensuring compliance with Group requirements in respect of environmental building design, materials and processes; 
  • Researching and sourcing innovative new building material and equipment to improve processes and ensure environmental options are being used. 
  • Conducting site visits to review progress of build and complete handover with builders and compile defects report. 
  • Ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements including but not limited to building approvals, design and safety;
  • Assisting in developing a learning culture throughout the property team by providing support, resources and learning development.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as may be required from time to time to meet the changing needs of the business.

Our Perfect Match:

  • Strong understanding of the property construction industry (retail, commercial and office) including the requirements of the appropriate legislation with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget;
  • Excellent time management skills, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to forge strong relationships;
  • Has experience and passion for project management and delivering effective solutions and outcomes for the business;
  • Has an organised and methodical approach and demonstrates a willingness to improve processes;
  • Is self-motivated and likes to get things done and drives projects forward;
  • Has open availability/flexibility for travel to accommodate business needs, especially during peak periods as the role will require regular travel within the Region.
